STUDENT GRIEVANCE CELL

At Cauvery College of Engineering, we strive to create an academic environment that fosters growth, inclusivity, and fairness. As per the guidelines of the All-India Council for Technical Education (AICTE), the Student Grievance Cell (SGC) has been established to address concerns and complaints raised by students regarding academic and administrative matters, harassment, discrimination, or any other issues that may affect their well-being.

The Student Grievance Cell ensures that all grievances are handled in a structured and time-bound manner while upholding fairness, transparency, and confidentiality principles.

Duties of the Student Grievance Cell:

The Student Grievance Cell is responsible for:

  1. Receiving and Addressing Grievances
  • Providing a platform for students to submit their grievances in a structured manner.
  • Ensuring that complaints are addressed and processed within a stipulated time frame.
  1. Maintaining Confidentiality and Fairness
    • Ensuring that all grievances are handled with utmost confidentiality and without bias.
    • Promoting a culture of fairness and justice in the resolution process.
  2. Redressal of Academic and Administrative Issues
    • Resolving concerns related to examinations, attendance, faculty, scholarships, fees, and other academic matters.
    • Addressing administrative issues such as logistics, transport, canteen services, and infrastructure concerns.
  3. Preventing Harassment and Discrimination
    • Addressing complaints related to harassment, discrimination, or any form of injustice students face.
    • Coordinating with the Anti-Ragging Committee, Internal Complaints Committee (ICC), and Discipline Committee when required.
  4. Ensuring AICTE Compliance
    • Adhering to AICTE guidelines in resolving grievances effectively.
    • Reporting serious grievances to higher authorities or regulatory bodies if necessary.
  5. Awareness and Guidance
    • Conduct awareness programs to inform students about their rights and the grievance redressal mechanism.
    • Encouraging students to seek redressal ethically and responsibly.

Grievance Redressal Procedure:

  1. Submission of Grievance
    • Students can submit their grievances via an online portal, email, or in-person submission.
  2. Hearing & Resolution
    • The committee discusses the grievance and takes necessary action.
    • If needed, the complainant is called for a hearing.
  3. Decision & Communication
    • The decision is communicated to the complainant, and appropriate corrective action is taken.

  • Preparation of standard formats with approval of IQAC
  • Identification of student welfare officer.
  • Provision to drop the written request/complaints.
  • Students meet the student welfare officer at the Grievance redressal cell.
  • Displaying/uploading of Govt. circulars/notices/information about the various benefits.
  • Scholarships for needy students.
