Establishment of Committee For SC/ST

The SC/ST/OBC Cell is established to safeguard the rights and welfare of Scheduled Castes (SC), and Scheduled Tribes (ST) in an institution. The cell ensures compliance with government policies, promotes social inclusion, and addresses any grievances related to discrimination or deprivation faced by these communities.

Objectives of the SC/ST

  1. To promote equal opportunities in education, employment, and social participation for SC/ST students and staff.
  2. To ensure the implementation of policies and guidelines issued by the government concerning SC/ST welfare.
  3. To address grievances related to discrimination or any form of harassment against SC/ST
  4. To create awareness about the rights and provisions available to these
  5. To foster an inclusive and supportive environment within the

 

Duties and Responsibilities

  1. Monitor and counsel on the progress of SC/ST students
  2. Organize sensitization programs and workshops on constitutional rights and social
  3. Facilitate mentorship and counseling sessions to support the academic and professional growth of students.
  4. Address complaints about discrimination, harassment, or denial of rightful
  5. Ensure proper representation of SC/ST members in various committees and decision- making bodies.
  6. Coordinate with government agencies for scholarships, financial aid, and welfare

 

Grievance Redressal Mechanism

  1. Complaint Submission: Any SC/ST member facing discrimination or issues related to policy implementation can submit a written complaint to the cell.
  2. Investigation & Hearing: The committee will conduct an impartial inquiry into the complaint, hearing both the complainant and the accused party.
  3. Resolution & Action: Based on findings, appropriate action will be taken to resolve the grievance, which may include mediation, disciplinary measures, or policy
  4. Follow-up & Monitoring: The cell ensures follow-up on the resolution to prevent recurrence of similar issues.

  1. Conduct awareness programs on SC/ST rights, policies, and

  3. Collaborate with NGOs and government agencies for additional support
  4. Organize cultural and academic events to promote inclusivity and social
  5. Maintain an open communication channel for students and staff to express concerns

 

The SC/ST Cell plays a crucial role in ensuring social justice and equal opportunities within an institution. Through a structured approach in grievance redressal, policy implementation, and awareness campaigns, the cell fosters an inclusive educational and work environment, empowering marginalized communities to achieve their full potential.
